JoJo’s World: Flight to Dubai

JoJo and his friend Jake are at the Orlando airport, excited to begin a trip to Dubai. Their friend Ryan was supposed to be traveling with them, but they disclose that he won’t be for some unexplained reason. Still, Jake is optimistic about the trip, saying. “There’s going to be no problems at all, no hiccups at all. Everything’s gonna go so smoothly, even though we’re already down one person, Ryan.” One thing noticeable about travel with Jake versus other people is that JoJo and Jake get to the airport around three hours before the flight instead of barely in time.

They check in at the Emirates airline counter in Orlando’s Terminal C, and after getting their boarding passes, JoJo has time to show some of the new terminal. Jake wants to get something to eat, so they sit a Wine Bar George and get a charcuterie board. “I’m telling you, Terminal C, it’s the vibe. It’s so much better than the other ones. They have a freaking wine bar here!” JoJo effuses.

They can hear thunder and see through the windows that there are flashes of lightning outside. JoJo worries that the flight might be delayed. At the gate, JoJo’s concern is realized when it’s announced that the flight is delayed due to the weather. Jake says that means they have to try Orange County Brewers bar. There, they meet several people traveling to Europe, including a contestant for the TV game show The Floor.

Eventually, they are called to board and when JoJo gets to his seat, he shows all the amenities waiting for him there, as well as the seatback electronics. JoJo especially like the route map and the camera view from both in front of the plane and underneath it. “I feel like I’m enjoying this a little too much,” JoJo admits.

During the flight, they enjoy the late dinner and they discuss how surprised they are to get such great service in Economy. They sleep some and are amazed to see that when they wake up they are already over Europe. Breakfast is served and a little while later, they are on the ground at Dubai. In review, JoJo gives the flight a 9.5 out of 10.

They check in at the car rental counter and take their first steps outside to experience the Dubai climate. “Oh man, first time outside. It is hot, it is bad, it is humid. I feel like we went back straight to Florida. Alright, let’s get this car. This is rough,” JoJo says, indicating his discomfort. He describes being in the rental car garage as feeling like a sauna, so maybe it was like when Kyle Pallo did a vlog asking him questions in a hot car. If you know, you know.

Using GPS, Jake drives the car to Millenium Place, their hotel on the outskirts of Dubai. JoJo is thrilled with their room and its view. “This place is lovely,” he states when seeing the balcony. Before calling it a night, JoJo and Jake unwind with drinks and dinner at the hotel restaurant. JoJo tells viewers that the next day they will be going to the world’s largest indoor theme park.

[4/5] The vlog provides a good feel for what traveling to Dubai on Emirates is like. Also, the relative ease with which they got from Orlando to their hotel in Dubai could inspire others to travel there, people who may have thought it would be more challenging.
