JoJo Crichton and his girlfriend Krista are at Disney Springs for Krista to pick out a new outfit for JoJo to wear on an upcoming “secret” trip.
Before shopping, they stop at Wine Bar George for dinner. On the way there, JoJo says “We are late again.” Long-suffering Krista replies, “Per usual, so I’m not even.”
At the restaurant, they get a table upstairs and order a charcuterie board, with mac ‘n cheese bites and some crackers. JoJo mentions how much he loves charcuterie boards because they’re the perfect amount of food for them.
While waiting for the food, JoJo reveals he first learned of his secret trip earlier that day. For now, he only shares that it will be weekend-long adventure. Krista tells him, “It’s a cool opportunity, so kudos to you.”
After dinner, as they walk around Disney Springs, JoJo tells Krista that her budget is $100 for buying him a new outfit. She confidently replies, “Challenge accepted.”
“By the way, everyone, speaking about money…” JoJo says as intro into a monologue about yesterday’s poorly performing vlog. He lets viewers know that the vlog about pin trading was the worst performing vlog on his channel out of the last ten that he’s posted. He explains how that makes him feel, saying, “That can be really rough and kind of hard. Like that basically makes you question your job. That’s like getting an F on your report card.”
Instead of using the result to try to figure out how to do better, JoJo says what helps get him through those “low days” is his own appreciation for the content he puts out. He states that the vlog is “awesome”, rejecting what the numbers should be teaching him. Still, mindful of the money it would bring him, he tells viewers to go watch the vlog if they haven’t already.
For some after-dinner drinks, they make a stop at Stargazers bar. This is JoJo’s first time at the bar, despite him having spent so much time at Disney Springs over the years. He plays to the camera, talking about how monumental this first time occasion is. Apparently believing that Krista isn’t doing her part for the scene, he admonishes her, saying “I need a better reaction from you.”
After the bar and a quick stop at American Threads for Krista to shop for herself, she tells JoJo they’ll be shopping at Zara. JoJo replies, “Zara, who could have guessed?” Krista explains her choice, saying, “Well, the problem is, like, they have a bunch of really great stores here, but they’re all very cruise-like and your special trip is not a cruise, so I can rule that one out.” JoJo confirms his secret trip is not a cruise.
Inside Zara, Krista starts picking out options. It doesn’t start out well, as JoJo doesn’t like the color of the first shirt she grabs. Krista tells him that he dresses like a schlub, usually wearing flip-flops, a t-shirt and Costco shorts. JoJo protests that his shorts are lululemon now.
Krista holds up a see-through shirt and JoJo says it’s more Jete’s vibe. He claims he has never put on a see-through shirt before.
Once Krista completes making her selections, JoJo goes to a fitting room to try them on. The first shirt, a green button-down, is the shirt he initially disliked the color of. JoJo admits that “it feels pretty good”. Most importantly, Krista likes it, telling him it looks great on him.
Next, JoJo puts on a grey and black pullover. Krista critiques it, saying “it’s a little big” and elaborates that “it kind of eats you a little bit.” JoJo doesn’t mind the looseness, proclaiming “I don’t mind being a balloon.”
Finally, JoJo tries on the see-through shirt. He observes that the see-through material shows his skin tone making the garment look tan. Krista says she likes the shirt, but she seems hesitant about it.
JoJo declares that all the options are great and it’s time for Krista to make a decision. Krista instead brings him some black shoes, saying JoJo should get them as well to go with his new outfit. She points out that his current black shoes are “nasty” and would ruin the look of the outfit. JoJo reminds her that she has a spending limit for the entire purchase.
Krista decides to get the green shirt and the shoes. The total is $102, so close enough to the limit that JoJo set. However, Krista surprises JoJo by buying the grey and black pullover as a gift to him. “I just want you to be able to have nice things,” she explains.
With the clothes shopping completed, they go to the World of Disney to browse the new Christmas merchandise. After that, JoJo returns home to talk to Jete about the secret trip. He tells viewers his plan is to take Jete with him, but Jete doesn’t know about it yet. At home, JoJo tells Jete to cancel his weekend plans and get prepared to go with him somewhere. Jete agrees, setting the stage for a future vlog.
[5/5] It’s always nice to see a vlog in which Krista speaks her own mind and has a major role, and not be just another vlog in which JoJo uses her as his assistant to record him, hold his drink or carry his bag. She wants to take care of her guy, and that includes not only buying him some clothes, but also letting him know that there’s some improvement needed in his wardrobe.
