JoJo’s World: H2O Glow After Hours 2023

The vlog begins at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park. “We are at H2O Glow. It’s a Disney after-hours event here at my favorite water park, Typhoon Lagoon,” JoJo explains. The ticket costs $79, but with his annual pass holder discount, JoJo pays about $62.

JoJo’s friend Ryan, who invited him to the event, joins him. Ryan tells him that it’s going to be a great night and also advises him that it’s going to be a “guys night”. JoJo quickly responds, “We love a guys night.”

The two of them, along with other friends of Ryan’s, find a private area to relax in. JoJo comments on the festive atmosphere, saying, “You can hear all the lovely music, there’s bubbles blowing, it’s hype.” He advises viewers to arrive early to the event to enjoy the rides and wave pool before the entertainment starts.

Looing at the wave pool, JoJo comments, “Look at these waves! God, that just gets me excited!”

JoJo notes that there is “barely anyone” in the wave pool at the moment and he ventures in. “Those waves are huge!” he exclaims. “I’m not ready! Oh, gosh, I got to jump! I’m not ready!” as the wave hits below his waist. “Wow! Alright! My heart’s racing!” he says excitedly.

After explaining about the free popcorn and ice cream that comes with the event ticket, JoJo and friends go on Crush ‘n’ Gusher, a roller-coaster-like raft ride, and JoJo gets completely drenched. On top of that, it starts to rain. Ryan confidently, but headlessly, stated, “We’re already wet out here, so, you know, it can’t get any worse.”

There’s a song here somewhere:

“But at the end of the day, it was a very unique experience, which I absolutely loved. Dancing in the rain with my guys… I mean, I’m just blessed I was able to do that.”

~ JoJo

The group gets drinks and then goes to the area in front of the DJ booth at the Board Room. It’s raining, but the guys have fun singing the songs and dancing together on the beach. “This is guys’ night,” JoJo yells happily. Ryan shouts, “Boys’ night!!”

The rain continues and they move on to Humunga Kowabunga. The all-male group of course sees the body slide as a competition, and discuss who among them is going to “win”. There’s a log of arguing, a lot, about who is likely to win, taking into accounts factors like weight and form. JoJo goes head-to-head with Ryan and Ryan reaches the bottom first. The rest of the group comes down the slide, and Jake finishes first. They all argue about who the winner was and JoJo cuts it off by saying, “We had a good time. It’s raining. Onto the lazy river.”

They make a stop at Hammer Head Fred’s Dive Bar, but they can’t get drinks because they didn’t bring their IDs. (“Obviously, we just got off a water slide, so no ID.”)

Despite the rain and nearby lightning, they decide to go into the lazy river. (“it is pouring outside. It’s not raining; it’s pouring.”) There’s a lot of discussion, a lot, about the character themes of the tubes and getting the one that each person wants. Ryan first chooses Minnie, but then is offered Stitch and he takes it, giving Minnie to JoJo. He says if he see someone with a WALL-E tube, he’s going to push them off of it and take it.

Ryan continues to talk obsessively about the rarity of the Stitch and Minnie tubes. JoJo dismisses the talk of taking someone’s else tube to get that character by saying, “boys are just being boys, honestly.”

After they get out of Castaway Creek, they go back into the surf pool. They notice lightning, but stay in the pool for a couple waves. Then they they decide to go get some food and drinks. At Typhoon Tilly’s, JoJo gets a “Green Glow Punch” and chili-lime pork rinds, which he describes as the best pork rinds he’s ever had.

The park finally announces that the beach areas and water attractions are closed due to the lightning, and JoJo and his friends decide to leave the park. As they move to the exit, it’s raining, but the DJ is still playing. JoJo and Jake can’t resist the temptation to go back and dance some more before the event is over.

On his way home, JoJo reflects on the night. He mentions that some of the entertainment was cancelled due to the weather, and he was disappointed that he didn’t see any characters. His friends asked for a refund, but were not able to get one. Despite this, JoJo says he still had a good time and feels he got his money’s worth.

He concludes the vlog by expressing his gratitude for a unique experience and “dancing in the rain with my guys.” He mentions that he might go to the event again when the weather is better.

[3/5]  Ryan’s style of being sarcastic and trying to show up other people is off-putting. His obsession with the character tubes got old quickly. In 2022, JoJo attended H2O Glow with Austin Wheeling, and that vlog is superior to this one in providing information about the event. Also, frankly, Austin was a better companion to watch in a vlog of the event.
